Dialogue for Democracy and Development

A regional foundation for Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Governments, business, academia, and civil society — one table for a shared regional agenda.

Why DDD exists

Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean share history, geography, and economic interdependence — but no permanent, neutral mechanism for structured cooperation across borders, sectors, and stakeholders. DDD Southeast Europe was established to be that mechanism: an independent, multi-stakeholder foundation that convenes the people and institutions who already shape regional outcomes, and gives them a common table to work from.

What we do

Four formats. One regional agenda.

The foundation works in four concrete formats — convening, evidence, talent, and culture — organised around eight strategic objectives.

  • 01

    Forums & Roundtables

Convenings that put governments, business, academia, and civil society in the same room — across borders, on the record where productive, off the record where necessary.

    See upcoming convenings

  • 02

    Policy Reports & Outlook

Evidence-based analysis on the questions the region faces: cross-border economic cooperation, energy, regulation, security. Published annually as the Geopolitical Outlook and through standalone reports.

  • 03

    Leadership Academy

A programme for the next generation of regional leaders. Cohort-based, cross-country, taught by practitioners.

  • 04

    Cultural Diplomacy & Regional Indexes

Cultural Diplomacy Weeks across regional cities and periodic Regional Indexes — Economy, Energy, Culture — that give the region shared facts to work from.

DDD Southeast Europe — Dialogue for Democracy and Development

One table. Across borders, sectors, and capitals.

DDD Southeast Europe is built by its members. If you work on the region — in government, business, academia, civil society, or as a journalist or researcher who covers it — there is a seat at the table.
