DDD Southeast Europe — Dialogue for Democracy and Development — is an independent, multi-stakeholder foundation established to convene governments, business, academia, and civil society around a shared regional agenda for democracy and development across Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The foundation is governed by a Board of Directors of up to 15 members, supported by an Advisory Council of up to 20 senior figures from politics, business, academia, and civil society. Operations are run by an Executive Secretariat based in Bucharest (headquarters) and Athens, with Regional Chapters in Athens, Istanbul, Chișinău, and Sofia.
The foundation's work is organised around eight strategic objectives — including cross-border economic cooperation, energy and the green transition, cultural diplomacy and heritage protection, and evidence-based regional policy. Activity formats include Forums and Roundtables across regional cities, the Annual Geopolitical Outlook, the Leadership Academy for next-generation regional leaders, Policy Reports on specific cross-border questions, and Cultural Diplomacy Weeks.
