DDD Southeast Europe Dialogue for Democracy and Development — is an independent, non-profit foundation convening governments, business, academia, and civil society around a shared regional agenda for democracy and development across Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. The foundation is headquartered in Bucharest, with an Executive Secretariat in Athens and Regional Chapters across the region.

DDD Southeast Europe Dialogue for Democracy and Development — is an independent, multi-stakeholder foundation established to convene governments, business, academia, and civil society around a shared regional agenda for democracy and development across Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The foundation is governed by a Board of Directors of up to 15 members, supported by an Advisory Council of up to 20 senior figures from politics, business, academia, and civil society. Operations are run by an Executive Secretariat based in Bucharest (headquarters) and Athens, with Regional Chapters in Athens, Istanbul, Chișinău, and Sofia.

The foundation's work is organised around eight strategic objectives — including cross-border economic cooperation, energy and the green transition, cultural diplomacy and heritage protection, and evidence-based regional policy. Activity formats include Forums and Roundtables across regional cities, the Annual Geopolitical Outlook, the Leadership Academy for next-generation regional leaders, Policy Reports on specific cross-border questions, and Cultural Diplomacy Weeks.

Does DDD Southeast Europe give exclusives or embargoes on Policy Reports?
Yes — ahead of each major publication, the foundation works with a small set of tier-1 outlets under embargo. To be considered for the embargo list, please write to the press contact above.

Board members write op-eds in their personal capacity. The foundation can introduce you to a Board member whose portfolio fits the topic; the editorial relationship is then between the outlet and the writer.
