Foundation Welcomes Athens Executive Secretariat
The Athens office becomes the foundation's second operational hub and the primary co-ordination point for Eastern Mediterranean engagements.
DDD Southeast Europe today welcomes the Athens Executive Secretariat as the foundation's second operational hub. The Athens team will co-ordinate the foundation's Eastern Mediterranean engagements and host the secretariat function for the Annual Geopolitical Outlook editorial board.
Athens was chosen for its location at the crossing point between Southeast European and Eastern Mediterranean institutional networks, and for the depth of policy-research infrastructure already in the city. The Bucharest headquarters retains overall governance, financial, and legal responsibility for the foundation.
The Athens Secretariat will operate from offices in the city centre and will be open to members for scheduled visits from June 2026 onward. Day-to-day correspondence in the Eastern Mediterranean track now routes through the Athens contact address; nothing in the foundation's governance or membership structure changes as a result.
Initial Athens staffing is four positions covering co-ordination, editorial, events, and a member-relations role. Further hires will follow the foundation's regular work-plan cycle, with the next openings published on the foundation's contact page.
