Biography
Dr. Marija Selaković chairs the Board of DDD Southeast Europe. She is a senior adviser at the Centre for European Policy in Belgrade, where her research focuses on the rule-of-law dimension of European Union accession across the Western Balkans.
Over the past fifteen years she has held analytical and advisory roles with the European Commission's DG NEAR, the Regional Cooperation Council, and the Open Society Foundations' Western Balkans portfolio. She has written extensively on the implementation gap between EU-aligned legislation and its enforcement, and on the long-run effects of the visa-liberalisation process on regional civic life.
Dr. Selaković holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Belgrade and was a visiting fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations between 2019 and 2021. She has contributed regularly to the foundation's editorial output since its formation, and accepted the chair of the Board at the foundation's constitutive session in early 2026.
