Biography

Severina Pascu is Senior Vice-President, Commercial and Operations at Liberty Global, the international broadband and telecommunications group, a newly created role she assumed in March 2024. Reporting directly to Chief Executive Mike Fries, she provides operating and commercial expertise in the management of the group's core fixed-mobile convergence businesses and venture activities, and leads growth and operational improvement programmes across both consumer and business segments. Her career with Liberty Global spans nearly two decades and many of its European operations.

She joined Liberty Global as Chief Financial Officer of UPC Romania and became Chief Executive of UPC Romania in 2010, later taking responsibility for Hungary as well. Between 2015 and the end of 2017 she led the group's operations across Central and Eastern Europe as Managing Director. In December 2017 she was appointed Chief Operating Officer for Central Europe, responsible for marketing, sales and customer care across eight countries, together with business-to-business operations in the region.

In September 2018 Severina Pascu became Chief Executive Officer of UPC Switzerland, where she helped lead the company's turnaround. In February 2020 she moved to the United Kingdom as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive of Virgin Media, supporting the transformation of the business. She subsequently returned to Switzerland as Deputy Chief Executive of Sunrise, holding senior commercial and operating responsibilities, and was instrumental in driving and shaping the successful merger of Sunrise and UPC Switzerland.

Before joining Liberty Global, Severina Pascu began her career in 1996 at KPMG Romania, was part of the management of the US telecommunications company Metromedia International between 2000 and 2005, and from 2005 to 2008 held an executive position at CAIB Romania, one of the main investment banks in Central Europe. She is a graduate of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies. She is a member of the supervisory board of VodafoneZiggo Group Holding and has served as a non-executive director of Telenet Group Holding.
