Biography

Milen Veltchev has more than 20 years of international investment banking and corporate finance experience and 8 years of public service and government administration experience. He is a founder of ABFA Investments, an international UAE-based investment firm, which invests in a range of infrastructure, energy, transportation and real estate assets, as well as private equity and venture capital funds.

Between 2001 and 2005, he served as Bulgaria's Minister of Finance in the government of HM Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha (the former King of Bulgaria). He was selected as the Finance Minister of 2002 by Euromoney and Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Prior to his political career, Milen Veltchev spent six years with Merrill Lynch in London, working in debt capital markets and investment banking, where he advised public sector clients throughout Central and Eastern Europe on several high-profile Eurobond and privatization deals.

Milen has an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an honorary doctorate from the University of National and World Economy. He is a former Fulbright scholar and was a recipient of the World Bank Graduate scholarship.
