Konstantina E. Botsiou is Professor of Political History and International Relations in the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus, where she also served as Dean of the School of Economic, Business, and International Studies. Since 2020 she has been General Director of the Council for International Relations–Greece (CfIR-GR), and since 2015 Visiting Professor at the Hellenic National Defense College.

She graduated with honors in History and Archaeology from the University of Athens and holds a PhD (magna cum laude) from the University of Tübingen. She has taught history and international relations at the University of Athens and at the University of the Peloponnese, where she also served as Vice Rector for Economics, Studies and Quality Assurance and as Director of the Centre for Greek and International History (KEDIS).

Her previous positions include Deputy Director of the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence at the University of Athens and General Director and Vice President of the Konstantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy. She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Library of Greece and has taken part in the academic administration of the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy, the Hellenic Parliament Foundation, and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, among others.

She has authored and edited more than 15 books and some 170 articles and chapters published in Greece and abroad on modern Greek and European history, the Cold War, European integration, Euro-Atlantic relations, and Greek foreign policy. A peer reviewer for prominent academic journals and an op-ed columnist in leading newspapers, she is also Director of the “Contemporary and World History” publication series at Papadopoulos Publishers.
