Ion Sturza is a businessman, investor and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, with extensive experience across government, industry and international investment.

He began his career in international economic relations during the Soviet period after graduating from the Faculty of Economics at the State University of Chișinău. Following Moldova's independence, he became one of the pioneers of the country's emerging private sector, helping to build major industrial and financial businesses.

In 1998 he was elected to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and subsequently served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. In 1999 he was appointed Prime Minister, where he led key economic reforms during a pivotal stage of the country's transition.

After returning to business, he joined the leadership of the Rompetrol Group, a major energy company in Central and Eastern Europe. He later founded Fribourg Capital, an investment firm focused on technology, industry, agriculture, energy and real estate across several European markets.

He is also the founder of the Sturza Charity Foundation and is actively involved in civic initiatives and strategic policy discussions on economic development and European integration.
