Biography

Alessio Menegazzo is Chief Executive Officer and Country Manager of PPC Romania, a position he has held since October 2023, when PPC, a leading South-East European energy group, acquired Enel's Romanian operations. He leads the group's Romanian companies with a mandate to place them at the forefront of the energy transition, guiding the country's energy system towards decentralisation, digitalisation and decarbonisation while supporting Romania's sustainable economic development.

In June 2026 he was elected President of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) for the 2026–2027 mandate, succeeding Gilles Ballot, CEO of Carrefour Romania. In this capacity he heads an Executive Committee that includes senior leaders of ING Bank Romania, Deloitte Romania and EY Romania, with a stated focus on strengthening dialogue with the authorities, supporting public policies that increase Romania's competitiveness, and promoting a stable, predictable and attractive investment environment.

Menegazzo joined Enel Romania in 2009 and spent more than a decade with the group in public-affairs and sustainability roles, serving most recently as Head of Sustainability and Institutional Affairs, where he coordinated the team responsible for promoting a sustainable development model and integrating sustainability into the company's corporate culture. Before joining Enel, he headed the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania in Bucharest.

He holds a degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Genoa, with a specialisation in developing countries. He serves on the board of the Romanian Utilities Association, is a member of Aspen Institute Romania and is listed as a faculty member of Bucharest Business School, part of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE). He is also involved with a number of non-governmental organisations in Romania.
